No.1: Blaven Across Loch Slapin

This is a winter view of Blaven from the shores of Loch Slapin, showing the slopes of this beautiful mountain draped in snow, and the persistent autumn colours of the lower hills complementing the blue of sky and water.

This design is 110x140 stitches, approx 20cm x 25cm (8 x 10 inches) when worked on blockweave 14 blocks per 2.5cm (1")

No.2: Loch Coruisk

This is a September view of Loch Coruisk, in the heart of the Cuillin Hills. The deep blue waters are surrounded by bright summer greens, just beginning to show signs of autumn gold. All around are the jagged peaks of the Cuillin, and beyond them are striated layers of high cloud.

This design is 120x180 stitches, approx 22cm x 32cm (8.5 x 13 inches) when worked on blockweave 14 blocks per 2.5cm (1")

No.3: Sgurr nan Gillean, Isle of Skye

Sgurr nan Gillean is actually the peak on the left; the oddly-shaped one in the middle is Am Basteir, and the peak on the right is called Bruach na Frithe. The three form part of the mountainous ridge known as The Cuillin, and are one of the most famous views on the Isle of Skye. This particular aspect can be seen from the edge of Loch nan Eilean, just off the Dunvegan road not far from Sligachan.

This design is 140x200 stitches, approx 26cm x 36cm (10 x 14 inches) when worked on blockweave 14 blocks per 2.5cm (1")

No.4: The Cuillin from Elgol, Isle of Skye

This view of the Cuillin can be seen from the jetty at Elgol. The day which inspired this picture was a particularly fine and clear one. The whole range of mountains from Garsbheinn to Blaven could be seen, with no trails of low cloud to obscure the ridge. The colours also were spectacular, the intense blue of Loch Scavaig complementing the pinks, golds and browns of the early spring landscape.

This design is 350 x 100 stitches, approx 63cm x 18cm (25 x 7inches) when worked on blockweave 14 blocks per 2.5cm (1")
